Attendance management system that feeds payroll — face kiosk, mobile GPS and biometric devices
JobMyIndia records attendance from whichever source fits each site — a face-recognition kiosk on an Android tablet, the employee mobile app with GPS geo-fencing, a web punch, or an existing biometric machine — and applies shift rules, late marks, overtime and regularisation before the data reaches payroll.

Why attendance is the first thing to get right
Every rupee of variable pay starts as an attendance record: present days decide loss-of-pay, punch times decide late marks and overtime, and shift assignments decide which hours count at double rate. If attendance is wrong, payroll is wrong — no matter how good the payroll engine is.
The hard part in Indian workplaces is that one employer rarely has one kind of site. A plant gate, a head office and a field sales team need different capture methods but must land in one register.
Capture methods
Face attendance kiosk
An Android tablet at the entrance recognises employees on-device, works without internet and syncs later. See face attendance system.
Mobile app with geo-fence
Employees punch from their phone inside an approved radius. Mock-location punches are blocked, and low-accuracy fixes are rejected when you set an accuracy threshold.
Web punch
For office staff, with the option to restrict by location.
Biometric devices
Existing fingerprint or face machines from brands such as ZKTeco, eSSL, Matrix, Mantra, Realtime, Hikvision and Suprema can send punches through a connector that signs each request. We confirm your device model during setup.
Field staff
Field attendance with a selfie and location for sales and service teams working away from a site.
Rules applied before payroll
- Shifts and rosters — fixed, rotating and night shifts with a duty roster and shift-change requests that need approval.
- Late marks and early exits — grace periods and thresholds per shift.
- Overtime — hours beyond the shift or statutory limits are calculated and sent to payroll, and you can require approval before they are paid; the statutory rate is explained in our overtime and LOP guide.
- Cross-shift punches — an employee who arrives in a different shift is recorded and flagged for review instead of being silently rejected.
- Regularisation — employees request corrections for missed punches; managers approve or reject them.
- Comp-off — work on a weekly off or holiday can earn compensatory leave under your policy.
- Leave and holidays — approved leave and the holiday calendar are reflected in the monthly register.
From attendance to payslip
At month end, the attendance register — present days, LOP, overtime hours, comp-off and leave — is picked up by JobMyIndia payroll without exports or re-keying. HR reviews exceptions once, in one place.
Controls that stop proxy attendance
- The kiosk refuses a scan when more than one face is in the frame.
- With geo-fencing on, a punch without a usable location is blocked and mock locations are rejected; the kiosk also refuses low-accuracy GPS fixes.
- Every kiosk punch carries a device identifier and a unique event ID, so a punch synced twice is recorded once.
- Face templates are stored encrypted on the server, and registration requires the employee's recorded consent.
Frequently asked questions
Can we keep our existing biometric machines?
Usually, yes. Devices from supported brands send punches to JobMyIndia through a connector that signs each request. We confirm your model during setup and map employees to their device IDs once.
What happens when the internet is down at a site?
The face kiosk keeps recognising and recording attendance locally and syncs when the connection returns. Mobile punches need connectivity at the time of punching.
Can different sites use different methods?
Yes. A plant can use the kiosk, the office can use web punch and field staff can use the mobile app — all in one monthly register.
